Segue eliminates the central narrative of ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians Season 9 ’ including only the b-roll, a device orginally used in the show to link plot driven scenes. Primarily of nature the b-roll of KUWTK functions in a similar way to traditional landscape painting where trees and nature are conventionally used as a framing device to human narratives. Reality TV frames ‘real life’ by using nature as metadata in a similar way to ‘repoussoir’, a traditional painting device, which brackets or frames the picture and narrative by directing the viewer's eye. Detaching and abstracting the landscape from the human subject, the narrative of the natural world is anthropromorphised to one of constant movement reflecting late capitalism’s non-stop 24/7 lifestyle.
